Spyker C8
Spyker Cars was founded by Victor Muller and Maarten de Bruijn in 1999. They purchased the rights to the Spyker brand; a Dutch automobile and aircraft company that was started in 1880 and lasted until funds ran out in 1926. Since 2000, Spyker Cars have been building exclusive sports cars like the Spyker C8.
The company itself has had its share of financial difficulties, including buying and bankrupting Saab. In January 2022, Spyker returned to building cars after being backed by Russian investors. We’ll see how that works out.
Troubles aside, there’s no denying the aching beauty of the Spyker C8. In production since 2000, it uses an Audi V8 and reports a zero to 60 time of 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 190mph.
